Magic the Gathering

The legendary card game is fun to play, however, the story that ties it all together is even better. The stories that shape the world of magic are not too unlike the stories that shape any fictional world. Each begins with a threat to all of existence and a hero that can stop it. The part that tends to draw readers in is when it is shown that the hero is nobody special. It presents the idea that this could be them.

The feeling of hope and a doorway to destiny is all one needs to dive into a fandom. I have been a magic player for over twenty years. It is the sharpening stone that reminds me to keep dreaming of magical worlds with infinite possiablities. In one of the more recent expansions War of the Spark we are treated to the realization of villains quest and culmination of a heroes journey. There is a book out by Greg Weisman. I will plan on reviewing it, in the mean time enjoy the cinematic trailer.
